New Puppy Consultation
A new puppy consultation could be the most valuable time an owner can spend on their dog’s future.
It is extremely rare that a puppy who has been provided with the necessary training and experiences from a young age will require a behavioural consultation later on in life.
Putting in the work when a dog is young will reap rewards for the rest of their life
Puppy consultations can be performed either on an hourly basis with 3 session s spread over a few weeks or a one off consultation lasting up to three hours.
Prior to the consultation we will email you a brief questionnaire to complete so that we can obtain the necessary information for us to tailor the training to your needs. We will then contact you to agree the fee (dependant on distance) and arrange a mutually convenient time and date for the consultation.
Consultation Fee £95 Any applicable travel costs will be as per T&Cs
The puppy package includes:
- Three hours of face to face bespoke training and advice tailored to you and your puppy’s specific needs.
- Ongoing email/phone support for 4 months (from the date of the face to face appointment).
- A report covering everything discussed and demonstrated at the initial meeting will follow by email, for you to refer to whenever needed.
Common items covered are:
- Car travel
- Settling your puppy into their new home
- Toilet Training
- Eating and Sleeping arrangements
- Crate training
- Nutrition
- Introduction to collar/harness and lead
- Introducing your puppy to other dogs
- Jumping Up
- Children and dogs
- How dogs learn
- Basic obedience commands (e.g. Sit, Come, Stay, Leave)
- Beginning lead walking and introduction of recall
- Dealing with boisterous/overzealous behaviour
- Mouthing/nipping
- Continuity advice and what to expect in adolescence
There is absolutely no doubt that if you can start training and setting rules and boundaries for your new puppy from the moment they enter your home, you will significantly reduce the chances of your new canine companion developing those little behaviour quirks that can often develop into unwanted behavioural problems.
Please note that it is not possible to work with young puppies for lengthy periods so these consultations will be very much focused on educating you as the owner about a puppy’s needs, what you can expect up to the age of 6 months and demonstrating training techniques and equipment so that you are
comfortable using them yourself. The package includes 4 months support should you require further support
